For 5 days next week, the western side of the Snake Pass will be a beautifully quiet climb. Enjoy it and please also shout to Derbyshire County Council for safer cycling around Glossop and into the Peak all the time — we should not have to pick at the crumbs of road closures to have safe space to ride.

⚠️ Take care at Strines Aqueduct on the Peak Forest Canal: increasingly sunken path is littered with protruding metal rods.

I’ve asked CRT to sort it out asap (having first requested over a year ago when they weren’t this bad…)

Credit to Stockport for actually seeking funding like this and putting it to use. If only Cheshire East and Derbyshire could wake up and look at a similar priority system on the nearby pavement-free 40mph bridge of doom between Strines and New Mills…
