🐍 Sneak up the Snake again!
For 5 days next week, the western side of the Snake Pass will be a beautifully quiet climb. Enjoy it and please also shout to Derbyshire County Council for safer cycling around Glossop and into the Peak all the time — we should not have to pick at the crumbs of road closures to have safe space to ride.

📣🦌 PETITION: Oppose National Trust Lyme Car Park Relocation & Expansion
That @nationaltrust withdraw this ill-considered proposal and produce a progressive plan for access, which truly reduces impact of cars and has sustainable travel at its heart.
🚲 Want to see a safe cycle link for the A6 at High Lane, linking Greater Manchester with the Peak? It could start with this one road filter — but it needs your support NOW! https://www.peaksandpuddles.com/blog/2023/03/24/half-of-high-lane-a6-cycle-link-could-be-created-with-one-road-filter/
Warm enough that I could’ve got away with shorts, but still some impressive snow patches up on the lanes less travelled! https://bit.ly/PeaksPerryDale
NEW: Cheshire East’s new £53m Poynton Relief Road will open exclusively for walking, cycling and wheeling for one weekend only from this Friday. Plus: details of the 3.5m foot/cycleway alongside the "Roy Chadwick Way".

Merry Christmas! ☃️ At least no snow is good news for a Boxing Day pootle, have you planned yours yet? https://www.peaksandpuddles.com/cycle-routes/
Credit to Stockport for actually seeking funding like this and putting it to use. If only Cheshire East and Derbyshire could wake up and look at a similar priority system on the nearby pavement-free 40mph bridge of doom between Strines and New Mills…
Last day to feedback on proposals for “priority chicanes” on the very narrow bit of Longhurst Lane, Mellor.
Cycle bypasses are provided (good unless blocked by leaves) but how does it help pedestrians (there’s no pavement), why no 20mph limit? Comment 👉 https://consultation.stockport.gov.uk/highways-and-transportation/integrated-transport-block-longhurst-lane/
